Learn. Love. Be Amazed.

and then there was…

… A realization.

I’ve been cleaning all day, posting why it sucks to be an adult, and while I was doing that a song came on. It was up-lifting and put me in a much better mood.

End of the Line by The Traveling Wilburys

Well its all right, riding around in the breeze
Well its all right, if you live the life you please
Well its all right, doing the best you can
Well its all right, as long as you lend a hand

You can sit around and wait for the phone to ring
Waiting for someone to tell you everything
Sit around and wonder what tomorrow will bring
Maybe a diamond ring

(chorus 2)
Well its all right, even if they say youre wrong
Well its all right, sometimes you gotta be strong
Well its all right, as long as you got somewhere to lay
Well its all right, everyday is judgement day

Maybe somewhere down the road aways
Youll think of me, and wonder where I am these days
Maybe somewhere down the road when somebody plays
Purple haze

(chorus 3)
Well its all right, even when push comes to shove
Well its all right, if you got someone to love
Well its all right, everythingll work out fine
Well its all right, were going to the end of the line

Dont have to be ashamed of the car I drive
Im just glad to be here, happy to be alive
It dont matter if youre by my side
Im satisfied

(chorus 4)
Well its all right, even if youre old and grey
Well its all right, you still got something to say
Well its all right, remember to live and let live
Well its all right, the best you can do is forgive

(chorus 5)
Well its all right, riding around in the breeze
Well its all right, if you live the life you please
Well its all right, even if the sun dont shine
Well its all right, were going to the end of the line

Thank you George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, and Bob Dylan for putting it all in perspective for me.

Trevor Jackson

TREVOR JACKSON are the next best thing to hit the airwaves since… well, ever. Who’s in it? Meet Kyle Riabko(Jackson (most of the time), guitar (the better sounding one), vocals, synthesizers, clapping, percussion, cat, pills and vomiting) and Boots(Trevor (sometimes), guitar (the upside down sounding one), mandolin, vocals, clapping, percussion, needling, nagging, drowning cat, cigarettes and coughing). They’re folksy, spunky, and oh-so-wonderful. They are the best thing you ever heard, except better; birds chirping on a cool spring morning, the crackle of a fire, Mick Jagger and David Bowie kissing, etc.

Do yourself a favor: Check them out now.

End of the Line

I’m the last one to know, as always, but I never realized how great this band was. Much like Signs(Five Man Electrical Band), this was a song that my dad used to play for me over and over again. I’m a huge Tom Petty fan but I never knew (or I forgot) that he was in this super-band of musical geniuses. I’m in love and have now been on the search for every song I can find of The Traveling Wilburys. Old news, old band, but oh-so-in-love.

hearts are trump, my friend

I clearly wasn’t wished a 130 average tonight. A 123, a 92, and a 115 is what I turned up tonight in our three games. Not too great, my friend, not too great. Now my boyfriend and our friend are playing the NCAA ’09X360 game I bought while we wait for my friend Liz to come over to play some Euchre.  Overall, I think I did OK in bowling tonight. Average, I suppose to most weeks. I’m hoping for a week when I bowl over 120 every game. It seems the more I have my “fruit punch” the better I bowl. Or the worse I bowl, who knows. Tonight I managed to bite the dust and fall flat on my butt. I finished the fall with a curtsy. Go me.

Just for fun… I leave you with Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl,” just because I love this song.

let’s get political

Let me give you some background information.

First off, this is the song that my dad has sung to me since I can remember. I knew this song (originally by the Five Man Electrical Band) by heart since I was a little tyke. Secondly, since my freshman year in college I have loved Kyle Riabko ever since I saw him live opening up for Jason Mraz. Thirdly, although this song was a political statement in the 70s, I think we could all have a listen and apply it today. The world is a real messed up place, man, but future-guitar-god, Kyle, makes it sound oh-so-much-better.
